We provided project and cost management services on the conversion of this historic Grade II listed building into a new jazz bar and art gallery on Newcastle Quayside on behalf of Pub Culture. The venue hosts live music as well as selling food, ales, cocktails, wines and spirits with views across the River Tyne. Historic records show that the building was used by sailors to buy maritime charts that showed not only the safe passages of the River Tyne but also of the seas and oceans of the world. The original ‘Charts’ signage can still be seen on the front of the building and provided the inspiration for the venue’s new name.
